Eat That Frog, Newton Abbot

About This Project

Eat That Frog are a Community Interest Company based in Southern England, working across Devon, Cornwall, Somerset and Wiltshire. Their aim is to help those who may not be comfortable in a traditional learning environment, or may have missed opportunities in life due to educational, social or emotional circumstances. In 2017, they utilised a property in Newton Abbot which had formerly been used as a pizza takeaway business. 12 months after commissioning various alterations to their main site in Torquay, we were asked to undertake the required electrical works to establish business in their new Newton Abbot training centre.

In its current layout, the premises was not fit for purpose and required a number of alterations and the removal of walls to provide the space that was needed. The property was fully rewired, including new lighting, emergency lighting and power circuits. We also worked with their employed IT specialist to install the required data network necessary throughout the site to enable the connection of all required equipment, both hardwired and wirelessly.

The property required the installation of a new fire detection system, security alarm system and CCTV system to provide security and safeguarding. A new heating system was also necessary, given there was no gas service within the building to enable the installation of a gas central heating system. We proposed, designed and installed a new air conditioning system which would provide a comfortable working environment, delivering heating throughout the winter period and cooling in the warm summer months.
